Making An Income From Blogging

There exists a couple of major business models that those who do blogs are using to make money. The most common method is to sell advertising on your blog to those who read the blog. There are companies and different brands that really want to reach your subscribers.

The second way to make money through blogging is to create positive associations between the brand and the readership. Both types can make much money, especially if the blogger knows a lot about marketing.

If you are blogging with the goal of selling advertising, there are two basic ways that you can go about recruiting sponsors who want to put ads on your site; you can let someone else do all of the legwork, or you can do the work yourself and keep all of the revenue.

Many are selling ad space through Googles Adsense, a program that requires little effort in determining what ads you should be choosing.

However, most people discover that they make less money through this method than they had hoped that their blog would earn.

By selling ads directly to companies who want sponsored links or banners on your blog takes a lot of effort but is extremely lucrative. If you have contacts in the industry, you should have an easier time of it, especially if that industry is related to your blog.

Those with a strong sales background or who know how to pitch a deal can make a lot of money renting blog space to those companies that are interested in your blog.

The biggest problem with this method is that you need already to have a sizeable number of readers in order to convince companies to take the bait.

As blogging becomes more lucrative, there will be many businesses eager to advertise on your space. Some companies are even using the blog to present what adds up to being a friendly face for the company.

The company will often hire an established blogger who will write the blogs for them that appeal to the companys consumers.

There have been several established bloggers who have become employed by such companies and who have earned a lot of money blogging for the corporate world.

Selecting a free site to blog can be a bit overwhelming. There are so many good options. There are some sites that dominate the blogosphere but you can choose from a number of smaller sites as well.

You can chose a large site like Blogger or a smaller site. It all depends on what you believe your priorities might be.

Reliability is perhaps the best reason to opt for a large and well known free blogging site. When you choose to have an established brand host your blog, you can feel secure that your blog will not crash often and will not disappear in the middle of the night.

A company that has been around for a while is likely to have the resources to make sure that its clients aren't unpleasantly surprised by any technical glitches.

On the other hand, not all bloggers buy this logic and go for smaller sites, in part because they want to go for the underdog in the Internet and want a smaller company that has real heart.

The blogger then chooses David over Goliath as a matter of ethics and on the principle of the thing.
